House provided to family of martyred cop

LAHORE, Jan 15 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has gifted a house worth Rs. 13.5 million to the family of a martyred constable Hafiz Muhammad Nouman of Lahore Dolphin Squad in a private housing scheme in Lahore.
Constable Nouman laid down his life last year while safeguarding the lives and properties of citizens during a shootout with robbers. The martyred cop is survived by his wife and one daughter.
Punjab police spokesperson said that the Punjab government allocated funds for the purchase of a house for the martyr’s family. He said that last year, the Punjab government approved purchase of houses for the families of 27 police martyrs. In addition, funds amounting to Rs. 360 million were allocated for the purchase of 170 plots and the construction of houses for the families of martyrs prior to 2017.
