Large Quantities of Firearms and Thousands of Bullets Seized from Accused across the province. Punjab Police Spokesperson 

On the instructions of Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, the Punjab Police is actively conducting an ongoing crackdown against illegal weapons. Operations are being carried out indiscriminately across various districts, including Lahore, resulting in the seizure of large quantities of firearms and ammunition.  According to the Punjab Police Spokesperson, this year a total of 1,530 Kalashnikovs, 38,667 pistols, 3,273 guns, 2,867 rifles, 720 revolvers, and a huge number of bullets and cartridges have been recovered from accused across the province, including Lahore. Specifically, in Lahore, police teams have confiscated 126 Kalashnikovs, 8,287 pistols, 572 rifles, 314 shotguns, 126 revolvers, 46,000 bullets, and hundreds of cartridges. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has emphasized that there should be no delay in taking strict legal action against individuals involved in the promotion of weapons on social media and those engaging in aerial firing. He also directed that suspect showcasing weapons in TikTok videos be brought to justice without discrimination.  Additionally, Dr. Usman Anwar instructed regular inspections of licenses and stock records of dealers involved in the arms trade. He instructed that RPOs and DPOs submit weekly reports on the crackdown against illegal weapons to the Central Police Office (CPO).
