The Philippine National Police (PNP) warmly welcomes the appointment of Police General Rommel Francisco Dayleg Marbil as the 30th Chief of the Philippine National Police by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. With a distinguished career spanning 37 years, he brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and leadership to this esteemed position.
General Marbil, a distinguished member of the PMA Sambisig Class of 1991, has exemplified unwavering commitment and integrity throughout his tenure in service. His exceptional performance and leadership qualities have led to his appointment to various key positions within the organization.
Before assuming the role of Chief of the Philippine National Police, PGen Marbil served as the Director of the Directorate for Comptrollership, where he displayed remarkable competence and proficiency in financial management and oversight. His prior assignments include serving as the Regional Director of PRO 8, Director of the Highway Patrol Group, and in the Civil Security Group, Special Action Force, Presidential Protection Security Group, Agusan Del Norte Police Provincial Office, and Bacoor City Police Station during his earlier years. From 2006 to 2007, he was sent to a United Nations mission to Liberia.

The Retirement Honors for Chief, PNP PGen Benjamin C. Acorda Jr and the Assumption of Office of Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil were held today, April 1, 2024, at the PNP Transformation Oval at Camp Crame. PGen Marbil officially assumed the position of Chief PNP as PGen Acorda retired today. Chief, PNP Acorda, who was originally set to retire on December 3, 2023, had his term extended by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr until March 31, 2024.
